Alireza Kashaninia is an assistant professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering at Islamic Azad University, Central Tehran Branch. In 2009 Kashaninia headed the Advanced Bionic Systems (ABS) Lab in the university’s Faculty of Engineering. Kashaninia’s research covers micro- and nano-electronic sensors and devices, including PEDOT:PSS ammonia gas sensors; RF circuits; perovskite solar cells; photonic crystal fibres and all-optical half adders; quantum-dot cellular automata for processing-in-memory; and biosignal processing, including detection of sleep arousal events from EEG signals.
