Shahrokh Shojaei is an associate professor of biomedical engineering at Islamic Azad University, Central Tehran Branch, and is affiliated with the branch’s Stem Cells Research Center. Shojaei earned a PhD at Amirkabir University of Technology with a dissertation on differentiating mesenchymal stem cells into arterial endothelial cells under combined tensile and shear loading. Shojaei’s research covers fluid-structure interaction models of the tricuspid valve and upper airway, finite element analysis of the anterior cruciate ligament and knee prostheses, head-injury mechanics, gait analysis and tissue-engineering scaffolds.
